My Favorite Tees

I am alwaaaaaaays on the hunt for the perfect tee. One that's not too short so you can see my button on my shorts and not too long that could be mistaken for a dress. Plus, not too sheer yet not too heavy but just right. It's like Goldilocks trying to find her porridge. Ha!

Here's my four go to tees of the moment and why I love them.

Madewell Whisper Tees

At roughly $20 per tee, they are on the pricier end of a basic, run around tee. But girrrrrrl let me tell you how comfy, cozy, soft, and just delish these are. They are my FAVORITE and when they go on sale at Nordstrom, I buy in bulk!

JCrew Striped Tee

The be all and end all in striped tee will always and forever be JCrew. Seriously. The stripes are always spaced out perfectly, in the best shades that complement everyone, and are the softest cotton around. And when I say go to JCrew, not JCrew Factory, trust me on that. Some things you can get form factory but the tees are worth the splurge at JCrew.

Old Navy Luxe Tees

Always on sale. Always with a coupon code. Always comfy. They do shrink a little when you wash and dry them, so be prepared. Also, this is a bit odd, but the petite ones actually run a little big and long. Which surprises me. I can totally pass with a regular size large instead of a petite. Make that note!


Target A New Day Tees

Target, what did I ever do before you existed?! And how will I ever survive if you go away?! The A New Day collection is just simple, classic, basics that every woman needs. And, they're $5 a piece. Yup. You read right. FIVE whole dollars. So why not get them all in every color?! Don't hate me. Love me.

My Favorite Target Brands

Target. The be all and end all mecca for women. Especially moms.

Target has a few collections that have launched recently and I am really liking certain pieces from each line. Here's my thoughts - and I'd love to hear yours!

A New Day

This brand is my new go to brand for basics. A simple tee, a pair of cutoff shorts, a pair of slip on mules. They truly have covered all bases for this brand. The quality is good and the wear over time seems to hold up. I also like that I am my usual size so I can grab an item while there running a quick errand and 9 times out of 10 it'll fit. 

Dolce Vita

Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. And shoes. This shoe brand I loooooove. They are affordable and well made and trendy and stylish and cute. I have a pair of booties that I live in almost daily, a pair of wedges that are my summer go-to shoes, a pair of espadrilles that I get constant compliments on, and mules that are fantastic!

Universal Thread  

I think I am one of the few people who just doesn't like this brand. I tried on several items (a dress, tops, jeans) and nothing worked for me. It felt a bit cheap and just itchy. While I understand it's an affordable brand and they cut costs to make it affordable, it just is not as well made as the other Target brands. At least in my opinion.

Who What Wear

I have tried several items from the Who What Wear line and I have found most of them run big. Like at least one full size big. While I like being able to buy a smaller than usual size, it's hard when shopping the brand online. The quality is good, better than the regular Target brands, and I like the preppy-professional feel of it. 

The Target apparel section. I always get sucked in. Because, well, it's only X amount of money, so why not try it?! They get me every time. How about you?

The Best Tee

We're always on the hunt for the perfect tee. Not too sheer, not too slouchy, not too fitted, but JUST RIGHT. Here'a a few of my go to favorites right now.

Target: A New Day Tee

This tee is super light weight and ridiculously affordable. I mean right now it's only $5, so why not get one in every color. If your toddler gets paint on it, who cares?! It's cheaper than a Starbucks!


Madwell: Whisper Tee

I will admit it. It took me until last year to learn what Madewell was. What took me so long and boy was I missing out! What I love is that Nordstrom carries Madewell now, not just Madewell stores. This tee is comfy, cozy, a bit of slouch, and it has this feel to it that's almost like pajamas. Who doesn't love pajamas?!

Old Navy: Luxe Hem Tee

Old navy for the win, yet again. These tees have a curved hem so there's no need to tuck in. The cover the pooch perfectly and yet still show enough booty without showing allll the booty.

JCrew: The Perfect Stripe

When in doubt, and you want/need/must have a striped shirt, JCrew never fails. Their crewneck striped shirts are just the right size stripe and have just the right placement of the stripes to be flattering on everyone. I swear. This coming from a busty gal.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Haul

OK. I was one of "those" people. You know the ones, the ones outside Target at the ass-crack of dawn, in line, in the cold, to get their hands on the Lilly Pulitzer collection that was being released at Target. Well, let me tell you the disappointment that has ensued from it.

I was 14th in line. The first four women in the doors ran in and took all of the clothes on the teeny tiny rack. And checked out immediately. Clothes were gone. I then turned left to the accessories section. Again, the next four people took it all and checked out. What?! Well, there was still the back section where housewares was. I was not. I repeat, I WAS NOT going to be one of "those people" running through Target to get what I wanted. I still had my dignity. Kinda. Well, I got to the back, and there was SOME housewares left. I scored two packs of napkins, the glasses, bowls, and a shirt someone had dropped on the floor. In and out of Target in less than 10 minutes spending roughly $100. A typical Target trip, right?! WRONG! I lost faith in people that day.

But the days that ensued after were insane. The ebay mark ups. The posts on Facebook. Just ridiculous. I had a "friend" who bought out her store and then posted on her FB page that she had extras, made a FB group, and jacked up prices- even for her friends! I was appalled! The nerve!

Thankfully, I have friends near and far who fed my addiction and scored some pieces that day as well as over the past week since returns have been happening. Here's what I've got, what I'm keeping, and what I'm returning.

Boom Boom Dress



I am awaiting the arrival of this beauty from a friend who snagged it in Virginia. Can. Not. WAIT! This was #1 on my list!!

Set of 4 Bowls



A friend scored these for me yesterday at her Target. Dishwasher safe, super fun, and will make our patio tablescape for backyard barbeques this summer even cuter!

Boom Boom Chair



The same friend who scored me the bowls scored me the chair yesterday. I "might" have gotten teary-eyed when she texted me!

Set of 4 Tumblers



These are glass, dishwasher safe, and honestly, look oh-so-cute on my bar cart! I'm debating moving them to my sun porch...

Boom Boom Jumpsuit



Tears occurred when this arrived and was just too big. This was top on my list and I simply couldn't justify taking it to a tailor to alter. Sadness. Total sadness.

Nosey Posey Maxi



This is en route from another friend in Virginia and I can't wait! The strapless jumpsuit would have been great on my if I wasn't so short so I'm excited for the maxi dress. Perfect for a backyard garden party. Cuz we all have those, right?!

Set of 4 Napkins



I felt a little bad getting two sets because of the little stock my store had but I pushed that aside. How fun are these?! The pom poms on the end are super cute. Heavy fabric, good quality, and adorable!

Nosey Posey Button Down



I was honestly disappointed in the fabric of this. Very sheer, very light, and not like the other pieces I got. I actually swapped it with a friend in Orlando. I feel like I'm spending a small fortune on shipping!

Tunics



I scored this orange tunic plus the blue one online and am keeping the blue one and a friend is taking this orange one. They ran big. Like really big. Super fun, very summery, and good quality (for Target)

Blue Upstream Pants



Felt as though I hit the jackpot today when I got a message that a friend had these for me. Jackpot!!!

Set of 4 Plates



Between my tumblers, bowls, and napkins, my table this summer is going to be the cutest!! And the fact they're all dishwasher safe is heavenly!!

Yellow Romper



LOVED this! A little big on me but no biggie. Super comfy, will be great for running around this summer. The quality is a bit light but it'll just need to be ironed often!

Pink Shift Dress



A friend in California snagged me this shift dress as well as three beach towels. I'm totally ready for summer!!

Blue Upstream Jumpsuit



I wish this fit. Like REALLY wish it fit. Back to Target it goes...

All in all, I got a lot. Like A LOT. But, I love Lilly Pulitzer and the housewares were my favorite part. It was an adventure and quite time consuming. BUT.... worth it!

My Ten Fall Must Haves

Sometimes, we go to the same pieces in our wardrobes as safe pieces. Here's my top ten pieces I go to pretty much on a weekly basis.

A good pair of boyfriend jeans. My favorite right now are from Banana Republic.



THE Herringbone vest. You know the JCrew one that every person on Instagram styles almost every day. yep- add me to the club.



This is my FAVORITE top right now. It was like $20 on sale at Old Navy one random day recently and it's soft, comfy, cozy, and perfect!



A fun pop-of-color scarf. Orange and elephants, how can you go wrong?! This one is from Stella & Dot and seriously goes with everything.



Chambray. Everyone needs chambray. In more than one color. Light, medium, and dark. Personally, I just get a few each year from Old Navy and wear the, til they fall apart. Then keep them to lounge around the house in!



A pair of knee-high riding boots. My newest Target finds. I wanted a black pair as I already have two brown pairs. But love the pop of brown up top for fun. Plus, they're wide enough for jeans or leggings without cutting off circulation to my legs.



A blanket scarf. Last year, I bought this one and the navy one from Zara and live in them both while out and about and while inside curled up. So snuggly and perfect for every style!



An everyday sparkly bracelet and studs. Say hello to my go-to sparkles for everyday. Stella & Dot Amelie bracelet and Nancy studs. Every woman needs these. Everyone.



A fun shoe. For me, it's my Cole Haan metallic oxfords. I have the gunmetal grey ones, but those navy ones are quite tempting...
