Devon's Place Park, Norwalk

We had some time to kill before dinner one night in Norwalk and after spending 37 seconds on google, we found this playground! Little did we know it is in the same parking lot as Stepping Stones Museum, so take warning of that for parking purposes!!

There's two different playscape areas, one for 2-5 year olds and one for 5-12 year olds. I will say the one for the "big kids" was very popular amongst little kids too!

There's a roll-down slide (I don't know if that's what you call it, but it's what we call it) and my son is obsessed with it.

The twisty blue slide had a line for it almost the entire time we were there!

Lots of different areas to climb and slide.

They also have a splash pad, but it's on the smaller end of splash pads we've visited.

All different swings for all different sizes of kiddos!

These cute little playhouses were along the side of the playground!

Devon's Place was a fun discovery. We went on a Saturday and it was CROWDED. Plus, there was a party of some sort happening AND it's next to Stepping Stones. So, my advice is to go on a weekday ;-)

Stepping Stones, Norwalk

We had an absolute blast at Stepping Stones when we recently visited.

I will preface this with two big pieces of advice:

1) Do NOT go on a holiday weekend.

2) Do NOT go on a rainy day.

3) Do NOT go on a rainy, holiday weekend.

OK, that was really three, but you get my point.

The museum is 150% hands on activities and learning stations. My son, who's 2 and a half, loved it all! A good chunk of it is too big for him, but it didn't phase him one bit!

There's a great construction area that gives kids an opportunity for imaginative play. When it's not crazy crowded, we'll be spending almost all day here!

The light wall was the hit of the day!

We have a music-addicted child. Always drawn to instruments when they're available!

It took him a few times to realize these were not ride on trucks.

The water room was insanity. Good insanity, but still insanity!

There's a great outside area too. Lots of cushioned large building blocks to build forts and towers and make new friends!

Must Eat Monday: El Sugundo, Norwalk

We have a family membership to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk and we're always on the hunt for a fun new restaurant to go for brunch or lunch before and/or after our time there. This time we tried out Stepping Stones museum (on a holiday weekend I will add was a BAD idea) and a new restaurant we haven't tried before, El Sugundo.

We had originally planned on having brunch at The Spread, but a chunk of Norwalk had lost power. So they suggested El Sugundo instead, as it's their sister restaurant.

Their decor is super fun and eccentric. Their menu reflects it too. Lots of apps highlighting cuisines from around the globe.

Their poutine was good. Had a fried egg on the top which made for some yummy dipping.

My husband had a brunch sandwich special that he liked. Didn't evem let me take a pic before he dove right into it.

Chicken and a waffle cone. Yup, that's what it's called. Friend chicken topped with slaw and sauce in a waffle ice cream cone bowl. Yum.

Toddler approved too. I will add there was another family there using a high chair and they only have one, so be prepared for that factor. Also, it was rainy that day so we had to sit inside. Their outdoor seating area is fantastic and very family friendly, including a giant jenga game!
